Stuart Burnett, 67, passed away on June 18, 2023, in Tempe, AZ. Stuart was born in
Jacksonville, FL, to Darwin and Roberta Burnett. The Burnett family moved often, due to
Darwin's service in the Navy. Stuart also joined the Navy when he turned 21. While in
the Navy, Stuart received his technical training as an electrical engineer, which
launched his love of computers and programming. After the Navy, Stuart settled in
Washington, DC, working for ITT Courier which ultimately allowed him to move to
Arizona, where his son, Jarred, was born. He met his wife, Connie, and her children in
1995, which blended the two families into one.
Stuart loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed the ocean and loved deep sea
fishing. He enjoyed it so much that he even made specialty lures which he sold to other
fishing buddies. When not on the water, Stuart was an avid gardener with a super green
thumb and an immaculate backyard oasis. As an animal lover, he would spend much of
his time relaxing in the yard, watching birds, playing with his dog, or petting the cats.
Stuart is preceded in death by his father, Darwin Burnett, his mother, Roberta Burnett,
his sister, Vicky Burnett, and his brother, Matthew Burnett. Stuart is survived by his wife,
Connie Burnett, his children Jarred Burnett (Ashley), Sami Oakley (JR), Nikki DeMatteis
Gonzales (Rodney), and Joe DeMatteis; his grandchildren Timothy, Eli, and Jack; his
brother Duane Burnett, nephew Jason Burnett (Regina), and niece Ally Burnett Duncan
(Oliver); not to mention the countless others whose lives he touched.
The visitation will be held at All Options Funeral Home 1525 W. University Dr. #102
Tempe, AZ on Tuesday, June 27 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
