Martha Madel Radley passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 2, 2021.
Martha was born in Elkhart, Indiana, on September 10, 1923 to Jennie E. Baker (née Cory), homemaker & painter, and Joseph C. Baker, a pharmacist. She was their youngest child, joining two older brothers, James, and George.  The family moved to Detroit, Michigan when Martha was about three years old, and settled there.
Martha graduated from Cass Technical High School, Detroit, majoring in music.  There she met her future husband, Robert E. Radley (Bob).  They married on January 29, 1944.  They raised a family, remaining together for 64 years, until Bob’s passing on December 29, 2007.  They lived in Michigan, Ohio, Rhode Island, and New Jersey before retiring to Arizona.
Martha worked as a bookkeeper, and in retail sales.  She did volunteer hospital work in New Jersey and Arizona.  As well, she was a polling location volunteer for elections in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  Martha was devoted to family, friends and neighbors.  She loved baseball, music, and a good laugh!  She sang with Bob in the choir of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Scottsdale.
Martha is predeceased by her parents and brothers; her husband, Robert, daughter Anne Marie, and grandson, Robert John.
She is survived by daughter, Jeanne Marie Lundberg (Roger), Jeffrey & James; daughter Mary Alice Ward (James), Mary Elizabeth; son, John Joseph Radley (Laura Linden), Kristen, Steven, Melissa.  As well, Martha is survived by 6 great grandchildren:  Nicholas, Erik, Adam, Rome, Azalea, Lorelei.
Martha possessed a unique sweetness which she extended to all.  She was so loved in return.  She will be dearly missed, and always remembered.
A Mass and celebration of Martha’s life is being planned.
