DOROTHY PATRICIA PENDO (PAT)

3/17/1931 TO 11/10/2019

She was 88 years old and lived in Tempe Arizona with her son Richard, daughter Diane and her many, many pets

Her body just gave out and she was ready to go. Hospice helped us cope and gave us strength through her process and she went in peace.

She was born in Philadelphia PA and then moved to Allentown where she grew up on a farm with her father H. William Horn and Dorothy Horn. She had two brothers Harry Robert Horn and Charles William Horn who both died in 1983. When she was a small girl she went over a brick wall on a tractor with her older brother. She broke her leg in three places. When it healed she was running and it broke again. They were both lucky to make it through the accident. We have heard this story all her life.

In Allentown PA she met Robert Melvin Pendo and they married 1948.  She was 17years old. They were married for 68 years. She was a stay at home mom. They both traveled and did square dancing all over the Northern States and Canada. Everyone who met her felt a connection and friends have said she was like a mom to them. Her greatest achievement was having five healthy and wonderful children: David Robert Pendo born 3/24/50 married to Roseanna Pendo; John William Pendo 2/26/52 married to Laura Pendo; Charles Richard Pendo 6/8/1953; Robert Russel Pendo 10/25/1956 died in an auto accident in 1981; Diane Patricia Pendo 6/4/1959.

From the five children 10 grandchildren were born; Tonya Thomas married to Toby Thomas; Sonya Braun married to Dennis Braun; Shaun Robert Pendo married to Jessica Pendo; Johnathan Pendo; Jessica Pendo who died at a very young age; Rebecca Pendo; Joshua Pendo; Jacob Pendo; Allen Daniel Oliver; Anthony Charles Oliver.

From the 10 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren were born; Tanner Thomas; Taylor Thomas; Cory Cannon; Kelsie Cannon; Mark Pendo; Atom Oliver.

Her favorite nephew was Keith Horn and his wife Beth Horn from Goleta California (near Santa Barbara).

The service for her was at All Options Funeral Home

November 23, 2019 at 10:00 in the morning on a Saturday

Everyone was invited to our house 1941 E Hermosa Dr. Tempe AZ for a bite of food and drink.

Her final resting place will be with her husband at the National Veteran’s Cemetery on Cave Creek Road, Phoenix AZ
