Bevereley Ann Steverson

The world became a little lonelier with the passing of Bevereley Ann Steverson, 70, of Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, December 08, 2025. She was a woman who exhibited great strength and determination throughout her life. Born to Iriece Steverson, nee, Walker, and Jerry W. Steverson, in Waco, TX in 1955. She was the second oldest of 6 children, 5 girls and 1 boy. Bevereley’s family relocated to Arizona and settled in South Phoenix when she was young. Throughout her youth, she loved school and learning despite missing out due to chronic illnesses she suffered from an early age. She attended Sheraton Park Elementary School (now known as Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School); Percy L. Julian School; and South Mountain High School (now known as the Academies at South Mountain). While in high school, she participated in track-and-field and modern dance classes. She graduated in 1974, despite becoming a mother the previous year. She also later enrolled in South Mountain Community College for a time, where she studied music.

After her educational journey, Beverley worked a bit doing various tasks, including being a production line worker at Motorola and serving as a food vendor at the Park-N-Swap swap meet. She left the workforce in the 1980s to focus on being a homemaker. She went on to have 6 children, which included 4 daughters and 2 sons. She briefly regained employment in the 2010s, serving as a paid caregiver to two of her adult children alongside her daughter, Sheena. Her favorite pastimes were spending time at home with her family; listening to music; singing; and watching her favorite dramas, crime dramas, criminal investigative series, comedy series, action shows and movies, cooking shows, as well as home improvement shows. She also enjoyed cooking in her younger days. Additionally, she was known to lend a listening ear, advice, and a helping hand to others. She lived a simple life and tried to make the best of what she had.

Bevereley overcame many obstacles in her life with grace. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family. She now joins her mother, father, and numerous family members and friends lost over the years. Bevereley is survived by her siblings, Chryl Abbs, Donna Steverson, and Darla Steverson; her children, Maurice Steverson, Kmar Carroll, Chimere Steverson, Sheena Steverson, Shiniece Steverson, and Sinead Steverson; and her grandchildren, Hailey Steverson, Aaliyah Steverson, Aiyana Steverson, and others whom she never had the pleasure of meeting. The family will be holding a private visitation service.
