Betty Ann (Doerinckel) Bloomer

Betty Ann Carioty Bloomer born in Rochester, NY, October 7, 1931, passed away suddenly in Chandler, AZ, February 28, 2020. She is survived by her 5 children: Deborah Ann Carioty Meyer (Bert) of Redding CA, Sandra Lynn Carioty Amundson (Bruce) of Bellevue WA, Stephen Peter Carioty of Rochester, NY, Martha Jean Carioty of Bainbridge Island, WA and Peter Chadwick Carioty (Lisa) of Mesa Arizona and her 14 grandchildren, Kurt (Brittany LoBue) and Isaac Meyer, Christopher, Luke (Georgina) Kimberly (Jon Mansen) and Emily Amundson, Alexander Carioty, Jake, Kara, Greg, Marta (Brandon Painter) and Will Vandagriff, Meagan and Madison Carioty Brown (Brad) and her great grand children: Edrick Meyer IV, Jack and Theo Amundson, Lila Mansen, Lina Painter and Demsie Ogle.
She was a member of the Friendship Force, the Red Hat Society and a world traveler who enjoyed seeing new places and meeting new people. When her children were young she spent a lot of time exploring the United States using AAA Trip Tiks for many educational road trips, culminating with the greatest road trip of all time in 1969; a station wagon and 17 foot trailer, 7 people and a dog, this coast to coast US trip brought the family closer and is still raved about today. She continued this travel tradition with her grandchildren.
She was a genius at sewing and hand crafts. Playing cards and reading were her favorite pastimes.
Her presence will be missed by family and friends. Graveside services are being planned for September 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery in NY city.
