Stephen Courtney Brown

Stephen Courtney Brown, age 72, passed away at his home in Laveen, AZ, on Monday, September 2, 2019. He was born on November 3, 1946, in Findlay, Ohio.  Stephen enjoyed being a military “brat” and living with his parents in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, and Alaska prior to his senior year in high school.  He was a 1964 graduate of Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio. In 1966 he followed his father’s footsteps and served in the United States Air Force until 1970.  He spoke often of his military tour of duty in Korea. On September 3, 1971, he married Faye Harris. Together, they were blessed with two children. He graduated with honors from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, in 1972.  Stephen spent over 30 years employed in the semiconductor field. Traveling was in his life again as his career took him and his family to Florida, Ohio, Michigan, and Arizona. Exercise was always important to him whether it be running, biking, or walking.  The past seven years he especially enjoyed his daily hikes in the nearby mountain area with the family dog, Bandit. A favorite time during these treks was stopping along the way to chat with neighbors. He knew no stranger. He was proud of his community and was on the HOA Board. Stephen is survived by his wife of 48 years, Faye; his daughter, Julie; his grandchild, Ro’aran Hara’sunej; aunt, Marie Foust; sisters-in-law Paula (Larry) Dixon, Nancy Harris, Barbara Speed; brother-in-law Leigh (Nancy) Harris; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his son, Andrew, and his parents Charles and Jane (Courtney) Brown.  Family, friends, and others whose lives Stephen touched are invited to All Options Funeral Home, 1525 W.
