Cody Lee Koerner passed away at the age of 19 years on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 after a life long battle with an ultra-rare disease known as Snyder-Robinson Syndrome. His resilience to adversity strengthened others in ways that no one could have imagined. Those closest to him saw his unique personality radiate joy into the lives of others. He spoke in ways most could not hear. He expressed himself in a manner many could not see. He loved in ways most could not feel. Yet those who truly knew this amazing young man experienced an incredibly enriched life.
Cody leaves behind a legacy of hope for those who share his malady. Though we mourn our loss, we take comfort knowing he now stands strong in the midst of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Cody is survived by his loving mother Teri, his father Randy and his brother Brandon, who is 23 years old. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandmothers, Nancy Phillips and Clare Koerner, his aunts and uncles, Tami and Matt Shockley, Larry Phillips, and Kris Saquilan. He will be greatly missed by his cousins Ivy and Brayden Shockley and Massi and Nick Saquilan.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
-Romans 15:13
