Sondra Rodie Obituary

Sondra “Sandi” Lee Rodie, 76, passed away in Gilbert, AZ on February 7, 2018.  She was born on May 1, 1941 in Akron, OH.  Sandi was the daughter of Dorothy and Harry Swanson.

 

She was raised in Southern California and later lived in Japan, Prescott and Phoenix.  Sandi was a registered nurse with Hospice of Arizona, having obtained nursing degrees from Yavapai College and University of Phoenix.  During her later years she served as an admitting/information desk volunteer and in-hospital aide for children.  Sandi loved gardening, true crime novels, fashion, travel and driving her convertible on a beautiful day.  Her favorite place was Maui, Hawaii, which will serve as her final resting place. 

 

Sandi is survived by her husband, William S. Rodie, III, daughter, Kristen Previte (Todd), son, Scott Steele (Kerry), granddaughters, Gianna Previte and Lindsay Nostrant, grandsons, Trey Steele and Nash Steele, as well as great granddaughters, Ava Nostrant and Raelyn Nostrant.  She is also survived by her niece, Stephanie Swanson Lewis and nephew, Stephen Swanson.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Swanson, stepmother, Marie Swanson, and stepfather, Jack Waterman. 

 

No services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the “garden spaces” of Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ  85014.
